Yes. To travel to Portugal and other ETIAS countries, all British citizens must apply online for an ETIAS visa Portugal. All UK citizens will be required to complete the ETIAS Authorization Portugal as soon as the program becomes live in 2025. As a visa-exempt nation, the UK will be among the 60 countries whose travel authorization requirements to enter the Schengen region in 2025 will change. Yes. All British citizens will be required to apply online for the ETIAS visa waiver program once it becomes mandatory in 2025 The electronic ETIAS visa waiver is a replacement for the existing visa-free system that allows short-term travel within the Schengen region. It will take effect in 2025 and continue after that. To ease the transition for both international travellers as well as border officials, there will be a grace period of at most six months. UK citizens should fill out the ETIAS form to prepare for any travel to Europe starting in 2025. To allow for adequate processing time, travellers should submit their ETIAS online application no later than 96 hours (4 days) before the intended departure date. This will allow you to address any issues that may arise during the online ETIAS application process.

The new electronic Portugal ETIAS application for travel forms will be very straightforward. Before they travel to Portugal or other destinations within the Schengen region, all citizens from the UK and those from the 59 listed visa-exempt nations will have to complete an online application. The ETIAS authorization Portugal will take approximately 10 minutes in most cases. The online application will ask for basic information about the applicant, background, and travel history. It will also ask a few security questions.

In 2025 the ETIAS travel authorization program will become mandatory. All international travel within the ETIAS countries will require a pre-approved ETIAS visa waiver. To minimize disruptions, there will be a grace period for international travellers and border officers to familiarize themselves with the new travel authorization process.

All applicants over 18 years of age will have to pay the ETIAS cost as an application fee in order to obtain an ETIAS visa waiver. Minors aged under 18 years will not be charged for the ETIAS authorization Portugal. The same will apply to people over 70, as they won’t be subjected to the ETIAS fee. You must pay the application fee online with a valid credit or debit card when submitting your electronic ETIAS request. Your ETIAS application will be placed on hold if the transaction fails to go through.

Yes. To be eligible for the ETIAS travel authorization, all travellers, including children and minors from the 60visa-exempt countries, must present a valid ETIAS visa waiver Portugal to border officials to gain entry to any country in the Schengen area. This will allow them to enter any country within the Schengen region from the launch of the program in 2025. The online ETIAS application will need to be completed by a parent or legal guardian for minors and children.
